What is the Intervention Program?
This program allows us to provide extra help to students in kindergarten through second grade. We feel that if we provide additional help to students during the early years of their education they have a better chance to be successful.
At the beginning of the school year we looked to see which students might benefit from the extra help provided by this program. An extra certified teacher goes into several of the classrooms to provide support for some part of the day and to pull students into smaller groups. The program allows us to do this so that we can meet the individual needs of each student. Our goal is to have all students ready for the next grade level by the end of the year. It will be very important that you stay in contact with the school and the teacher to help us reach this goal.
In order to determine how your child is performing and to ensure that they are ready for the next grade level by the end of the year, we administer several benchmark tests during the school year. These tests include teacher made assessments, STAR early literacy, STAR reading, and STAR math.
If you have any questions about this program, please call the school (706-861-5778) or email one of the teachers below. These teachers will also be glad to meet with you to discuss any concerns or give you ideas on things you can help with at home.
